Marathon Sunday

6 May

Baby Beez and I met up with my friend Sonia in the Sahside of Pixburg today, to cheer on our friends and all the other runners in the Pittsburgh Marathon, Half Marathon, and Marathon Relay this morning!

The Southside is mile 10, and is a very busy part of the race.  We saw a few people we were looking for, but there were many other runners we were looking for but did not spot.  We cheered on all the runners.  We are so proud of their hard work! They really make the Pittsburgh Marathon a wonderful event!

Baby Beez clanged her cowbell, clapped her hands, and cheered.  She also tried to run off about 45 times (mischievous thing.)  She was much better behaved than I expected, actually.

All the runners were so inspiring! Seeing the huge wave of people coming down East Carson Street makes me want to run again, just a little bit.  I don’t have it in me to do another marathon or half, but maybe the relay next year wouldn’t be an impossibility.

Afterward, we stopped at Piper’s Pub for their famous Sunday Brunch. YUM.  I had Lamb & Chestnut Shepherd’s Pie.

Baby Beez chowed down on Bangers & Mash. YUM!

We had a super fun morning with Sonia and all of the runners.  Now it is time for a long nap for Baby Beez, and a lot of coffee and work for me.  Happy Sunday!

Thanks for coming out! It was a bit of a boost for me, helped me get through the next little bit. (Although unfortunately the last 2 miles were kind of like the worst thing ever ever.)

It was great to see you, and you were looking very strong! Sorry I didn’t get a picture of you 😦
Congrats on completing the race, that is such a great accomplishment 🙂
